Temporary Lodging Allowance (TLA) is a housing allowance that covers temporary lodging costs for military service members and their families during a PCS move to or from an overseas duty station. In the Kaiserslautern Military Community (KMC), TLA applies to families stationed at Ramstein Air Base, Landstuhl Regional Medical Center (LRMC), and surrounding installations.

Not necessarily — it depends on your situation. If you are Active Duty on PCS orders, the Ramstein Lodging Office (DSN 480-5594) will issue a Statement of Non-Availability if the on-base TLF is full. Bring that letter when you file your TLA claim to ensure full off-base reimbursement. If you are TDY, a GS civilian, a contractor, or visiting LRMC, requirements vary — check with your unit or finance office. Either way, you are welcome at Mumo's Inn with or without a letter.

We provide everything your finance office needs: an itemized invoice with nightly rate, dates, and guest information; a cooking facilities confirmation (which affects your meals and incidentals allowance); and VAT documentation if applicable. Your TLA stay includes a fully furnished apartment with high-speed WiFi, Smart TVs in every room, a full-size washer and dryer with English labels, a complete kitchen, free parking, and air conditioning. Our rates are designed to align with published lodging allowance rates for the Landstuhl area.

After checkout, bring your itemized invoice from Mumo's Inn, your orders, and your Statement of Non-Availability (if applicable) to the KMC Housing Office. Claims are reviewed in 10-day increments. For Army personnel, file at Kleber Kaserne Building 3245. For Air Force, at Ramstein Building 2108. We are happy to answer questions via WhatsApp — but the actual filing is done by you directly with finance.

Mumo's Inn is just 850 meters from Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, about a 5-minute walk. We are the closest TLA apartment to LRMC, which makes us ideal for families with medical appointments, outprocessing, or anyone who wants the convenience of walking to the hospital without needing a car.

Ramstein Air Base is approximately 8 kilometers from Landstuhl, about a 10-minute drive via the L363. To make your commute easy, we offer a complimentary Toyota Yaris Hybrid loaner car during most stays so you can get around the KMC area while you search for permanent housing.

Frankfurt Airport is about 130 km from Landstuhl, roughly 90 minutes by car via the A6 autobahn. You can rent a car at the airport or take a train to Landstuhl Bahnhof (the local train station), which is about a 10-minute walk from Mumo's Inn. We are happy to help coordinate your arrival.

We accept Government Travel Card (GTC), bank transfer (SEPA), cash in euros, and major credit or debit cards including Visa and Mastercard. Most TLA guests pay with their GTC, and we provide all necessary receipts and lodging statements for your travel voucher.

Our nightly rates are designed to align with published TLA and TQSA lodging ceilings. Most guests with valid orders and a Non-Availability Letter are reimbursed in full. There are no hidden fees and no cleaning charges. Actual reimbursement depends on your orders, branch, and funding source — check with your finance office for specifics.
